Hi, I’m Varun! I’m a Master's student at UCL, studying Software Systems Engineering. I also have a first-class honours bachelor's degree in Computer Science. I have a strong passion for both Mathematics and Computer Science, and I love sharing that enthusiasm with others through teaching. Mathematics and Computer Science are not just academic subjects to me—they shape the way I think and approach problems. From logical coding processes to the structure behind music, I appreciate how these disciplines connect to the world around us. Whether it’s exploring the logic behind algorithms or understanding how mathematical principles apply to real-world scenarios, I enjoy helping students see these subjects in a new light. I offer tutoring in Mathematics for all ages up to GCSE level and Computer Science up to undergraduate level. I have real experience teaching for OCR, AQA, Edexcel, WJEC, and Eduqas across both subjects, ensuring my lessons align with the specific requirements of each exam board. My approach is always tailored to each student, helping them feel confident in tackling challenging topics in a way that works best for them. In Mathematics, I help students develop strong problem-solving skills and a deep understanding of key topics, from foundational arithmetic to algebra, geometry, and trigonometry. Whether it’s reinforcing school material, practicing exam-style questions, or building confidence with tricky concepts, I ensure lessons are engaging and structured to suit individual learning styles. In Computer Science, I cover both theory and practical programming skills. I help students master topics such as algorithms, data structures, networking, and computer architecture while also ensuring they gain hands-on experience in coding. I’m comfortable teaching Python, Java, C#, VB.NET, and more, and I can also support students with programming projects in any language of their choice, offering guidance on best practices, debugging, and code optimization. With over 1,000 lessons delivered in Mathematics and Computer Science, I have worked with students from a wide range of academic backgrounds. My goal is not just to improve grades but to build confidence and foster a genuine interest in these subjects. If you’re looking for a tutor who can make complex concepts more approachable and help you build a strong foundation in Maths and Computer Science, I’d love to help! Working towards a MSc in Software Systems Engineering at University College London I hold: - First Class Honours Bachelors degree in Computer Science from Royal Holloway, University of London - A Levels in Mathematics, Computer Science and Economics - a Further Mathematics qualification - GCSES in Mathematics, English Lit and Lang, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, DT, Latin, and Music - Grade 5 in Piano and Cello

Lower Level: French GCSE: French A-Level (AI) : French Higher Level: French Languages: English and French Preferred Student Age Group: (Any/Primary/GSCE/Leaving Certificate/A-Level) I was born in Paris and raised in a bilingual household with no shortage of music. My father was a singer-songwriter, my mum plays the violin and I started singing before I could walk. After earning a diploma in Performing Arts in California, I moved to London and lived there for many years before relocating to the beautiful West of Ireland. After moving to London, I started teaching French and English as a Second Language to private students between auditions and performances and completely fell in love with teaching languages. Apart from performing and teaching languages, I really enjoy travelling and have had the chance to visit many countries in Europe and beyond. I have a real passion for the Italian language and love spending time in Florence, one of my favourite cities in the world. Last but not least, I love reading, have an extensive knowledge of French and Irish History, and also adore animals ... cats, dogs, horses... I love them all.

Lower Level: 11+ preparation and maths GCSE: maths Exam Board Experience: Edexcel for maths, and 11+ entry exam About you: I am currently finishing my Masters Degree in Applied Child Psychology at the University of Sussex, after completing my BSc in Psychology and Law in 2024. I completed my A-levels during the pandemic, so I know first hand how tough online learning has been for many students, and how easy gaps in learning lead to lack of confidence in that subject. I myself have done the 11+ exam entrance exam, alongside a different entrance exam for my local Grammer school. The 11+ can be daunting, especially the non-verbal reasoning, but I believe this can be overcome during fun activities, such as puzzles and word games. Through my childhood I have loved completing word puzzles, I have many fond memories of doing word searches with my grandfather, suduko with my father and crossword puzzles with my grandmother. I believe this has broadened my perspective on life and allows me to problem solve more efficiently.

Hi! My name is Aurora and I am a postgraduate student at the University of Manchester, studying a Masters in Development Economics. I am originally from Italy, but I moved to the UK when I was 16 and sat both my GCSEs and A Levels in London. In my GCSEs I achieved 8 A* and 4 A grades. These were the second-highest results in my cohort, despite the fact I had only been living in England for two years before sitting my exams. At sixth form, I taught myself French A Level in just one year and achieved an A grade, the highest grade in my class. I have always found learning languages an extremely rewarding, albeit sometimes frustrating process. Although languages open up doors to new ways of thinking and seeing the world around you, grasping the different aspects of a language, such as its grammar, can be demoralising. And that’s what I am here for - as a fellow language learner, I can empathise with the difficulties of this process and will do my best to make it as smooth and fun as possible. Furthermore, as a foreigner who has been through the UK education system, I am able to advise those in similar positions and facing similar challenges. Students learn in different ways, so I will adapt our lessons depending on your preferred learning style. During the introductory lesson, I will ask you questions in order to determine how you study, and your responses will shape the way I plan our future sessions. I will also be interested to know the topics you are struggling the most with, in order to give me a clearer idea of the areas I should focus on. I look forward to hearing from you! All the best, Aurora Qualifications: Msc, Development Economics and Policy at the University of Manchester (September 2023 - September 2024) BA, Economics with French and German at the University of Sheffield (September 2019 - June 2023) : First Class with Distinction in Spoken German A Levels (2016 - 2018): French (A), Italian (A), Chemistry (A), Mathematics (A) GCSEs (2014 - 2016): English Language (A), Chemistry (A), Physics (A), Further Mathematics (A), Biology (A*), Mathematics (A*), French (A*), German (A*), Italian (A*), ICT (A*), Religious Studies (A*), English Literature (A*). I have been a tutor since early 2020, when I started this career choice alongside working in the NHS as a mature student nurse at the University of Sheffield. I later went on to make this my full-time career, and in this time have worked with over 300 students, both long term and short term, of all different ages. I have worked both through agencies, and privately, with most of my students being referred through word of mouth. I work primarily with children in Year 5 and 6 in maths, and also children who are preparing for their Grammar School 11+ exam. However, I cover maths, English and science up to Year 8 level, 11+ exam preparation, English as a second language (for adults and children), and home schooling for primary school children. I am a member of MENSA, and I have achieved this because I work very routinely and am able to break things down into step-by-step techniques. These techniques are passed on through my tutoring, especially in maths, and I have had great feedback and results from this. I am very passionate about my career, as I love to educate others, and I believe it is so important to be a good role model and inspiration to young people, to drive them towards wanting to achieving their goals in life. My background is in healthcare, where I studied at the University of Sheffield (Adult Nursing BMedSci). I have also studied Diagnostic Radiography (BSc) at Sheffield Hallam University. I have an Access to Higher Education certificate in Health Sciences where I gained a qualification which included A-Level standard Biology, Chemistry and Maths, and AS-Level Physics.
