I'm currently a veterinary medicine student at university, slated to graduate in 2030. I have two younger brothers and have always been one of those strange children who enjoyed going to school for the learning, not just the fun. Outside of education I am a knitter, a crocheter, a badminton player, and an avid creative writer. I was involved in Scouts for two years and was part of the National Honour Society in high school, a society for students in American high schools that select members based on four pillars: academics, character, service, and leadership. I enjoy explaining things and hope to ensure that my students gain a greater appreciation of the subject matter, but I will settle for getting them through their exams if that's all they want. I attended CAJ, an international high school in Japan that following the American curriculum. I took 10 AP subjects, which are slightly narrower in scope but no less thorough in depth than A levels, and scored 5s (highest score) in all but English language, where I scored a 3 (pass mark). The AP subjects I took were Japanese, Calculus AB, Calculus BC, Statistics, Physics 1, Physics 2, Chemistry, Biology, English Language and Comprehension, and English Literature and Composition.

Hey there, my name is Percy. I have recently completed my A-level exams in Maths, Physics, Economics and Graphics, and I am studying Architecture at the University of Nottingham in September. I achieved A*A*A*A in my A-levels and 12 Grade 9s in my GCSE exams across subjects like Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Business and Geography. In 2024, I was honoured to be a finalist in the prestigious British Education Award. I have realised the importance of education and strive to help students excel academically across a range of subjects. I am confident in my ability to create a supportive and engaging learning environment tailored to individual student needs, and I can teach across a variety of GCSE subjects. I have experience teaching both face-to-face and online, particularly in Mathematics at both the KS3 and GCSE levels. Beyond formal tutoring, I have volunteered to host revision seminars and organised revision notes for younger students. As someone who has recently completed GCSEs, I am familiar with the syllabus, and I can cater to students of varying abilities and goals. I tailor my lessons to the students’ specific needs, whether that involves identifying knowledge gaps before tests, revisiting challenging topics, working on school assignments, or learning new concepts. My lessons are customised for all major exam boards, including AQA, CEA, Edexcel, OCR and WJEC. My lessons are 1 hour long and for students studying in KS3 or GCSE. My lessons typically follow a structured approach with three main components: Recapping topics from previous lessons to ensure a solid understanding, reviewing mistakes or concerns from weekly assignments. Introducing new topics in a clear and engaging way, encouraging active participation. During lessons, I also share a range of effective revision strategies and exam tips, proven to help my students improve their performance in exams. My ultimate goal is to enhance my students’ interest in the subject and boost their confidence.

Hi! I’m a friendly, outgoing and adventurous person who loves meeting new people, travelling, trying new things and making the most out of every experience. I’m naturally patient, approachable and love helping others feel more confident in themselves and their abilities. I believe learning should be enjoyable, not intimidating, and I always try to make lessons relaxed, engaging and suited to the individual student. I’m excited to share my knowledge, support students and hopefully make learning something they actually look forward to! I attended St. Christopher’s Church of England High School in Accrington, where I completed my GCSEs and successfully achieved strong results across my subjects. I then continued my education at St. Christopher’s Church of England Sixth Form, studying A Levels in Biology, Chemistry and Psychology, which gave me a strong foundation in both the sciences and understanding people. I am now studying Dental Medicine at university and will be progressing into my third year, continuing to develop my academic knowledge and practical skills. Hi, my name's Emillie! I graduated from University College London with a First-Class BSc in Applied Medical Sciences, and I am currently a first-year medical student at Queen Mary University of London. My academic background has given me a strong foundation in science, supported by my A-levels in Biology, Chemistry, Maths, and French. This combination has strengthened both my scientific understanding and my ability to communicate clearly and effectively. As a tutor, I aim to create a supportive and organised learning environment where students feel confident engaging with new material and asking questions. I understand that each learner has a unique approach to studying, so I tailor my teaching style to match individual goals, strengths, and preferred methods of learning. Whether students want to build core knowledge, prepare for important exams, or deepen their understanding of challenging topics, I focus on providing structured explanations, step-by-step guidance, and practical study strategies that help them progress steadily. My time studying at university has reinforced the importance of critical thinking, academic resilience, and a positive mindset—skills that I incorporate into my tutoring sessions. I enjoy breaking down complex concepts into manageable ideas and supporting students as they develop confidence and independence in their studies. Learning should be collaborative and encouraging. My goal is for every student to leave each lesson feeling more capable, motivated, and assured in their understanding. I look forward to helping learners at all stages achieve their goals and increase their confidence. I began my academic journey at a grammar school where I completed both my GCSEs and A-levels. Studying in this environment helped me develop strong study habits early on, as well as a genuine interest for learning. For A-levels, I chose Biology, Chemistry, Maths, and French. These subjects allowed me to explore my interests in science while also strengthening my analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and communication abilities. This combination provided a solid foundation for pursuing further studies in the biological and medical sciences. I went on to study Applied Medical Sciences at University College London, where I gained a deeper understanding of human biology, disease mechanisms, and the research that drives medical progress. The course offered a balance of scientific knowledge and practical skills, and I particularly enjoyed developing my ability to interpret scientific literature, conduct laboratory work, and communicate complex concepts clearly. I graduated from UCL with a First-Class degree, an achievement that reflects my commitment to academic excellence and my passion for this field. I have now begun my first year of medical school at Queen Mary University of London. Studying medicine has been an exciting next step, allowing me to apply my scientific background to real clinical contexts while continuing to expand my knowledge. My academic pathway, from grammar school, through UCL, to medical school, has equipped me with strong subject expertise, disciplined study skills, and a deep motivation to continue learning and supporting others in their educational journeys.

I’m a third-year aeronautical engineering student who knows from experience what it feels like when lectures, textbooks, or problem sheets just don’t make sense the first (or fifth) time. I’ve been in the position where school support wasn’t quite enough, which is why I enjoy helping students bridge that gap and actually understand what’s going on, not just memorise steps. My approach is relaxed, patient, and focused on building confidence alongside knowledge. There are no silly questions here — if something doesn’t make sense, that just means it’s worth asking about as I strongly believe that asking questions is part of learning, and no one should feel embarrassed for needing things explained differently. Outside academics, I’m a big sports fan and still play football for my own club as well as my university team. I love the outdoors, animals, and generally staying active, which probably explains why I like explanations that are clear, practical, and grounded rather than overly abstract. My goal is to make learning feel less intimidating and a lot more achievable. My degree has strengthened my analytical thinking, structured problem-solving, and ability to break complex ideas into logical, easy-to-follow steps — skills that translate directly into effective tutoring. During school, I took on leadership and mentoring roles, including serving as a Maths Ambassador, and went on to complete certifications in Sports Leadership, Mentoring in Violence Prevention, and Mental Health Ambassador training. Together, these experiences strengthened my communication skills, adaptability, and ability to build both understanding and confidence in others.

Hi, I’m Samara! I’ve been tutoring English at KS3, GCSE and A Level, as well as 11+ preparation, since 2022. I’m currently studying Law at a Russell Group university and genuinely love helping young people grow in confidence and reach their full potential! I teach students aged 8 to 18 and always aim to make my lessons engaging, supportive and tailored to each student’s individual needs. My goal is to create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and building their skills at their own pace. Outside of teaching, I love music, cooking and documentaries :) I am currently studying Law at the University of Southampton, a Russell Group university, where I have further consolidated my strong skills in academic writing, critical analysis and clear communication. My degree requires me to understand complex information, construct well-supported arguments and explain ideas in a structured and accessible way, which are all skills I bring into my teaching! I have completed modules including the Foundations of Legal Knowledge, the core units for an LLB Law degree. Before university, I completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma at Bexley Grammar School. My studies included English Literature, Global Politics and History which strengthened my essay-writing, analytical and communication skills. This diploma is notoriously more rigorous than A levels and has really helped me in preparation for university and for teaching A level English Literature. I also achieved strong GCSE results across subjects including English Language, English Literature, History, Religious Studies, Business Studies, French Mathematics and the sciences. As a former grammar school student, I also have a strong understanding of the 11+ process and the skills students need to develop in English, maths, verbal reasoning and non-verbal reasoning. I have been tutoring since 2022 and have experience teaching students from approximately age 8 to 18. I tutor 11+ preparation, KS3 English, GCSE English Language and Literature, and A Level English. I have worked with students of different abilities, including those who need additional confidence and support, as well as higher-achieving students aiming for top grades. In the past, I have led sessions with SEN students and first-time English learners hoping to do the 11+ or work towards sitting their SATS. Texts covered by me at GCSE level include Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet, A Christmas Carol, An Inspector Calls, poetry for both anthologies and many more. As for A Level students, I have covered Othello, Twelth Night, Jane Eyre, The Handmaid's Tale, A Street Car Named Desire, The Great Gatsby and many more. My lessons are tailored to each individual student. I aim to create a friendly and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and developing their confidence. I use clear explanations, worked examples, structured practice and regular feedback to help students understand difficult topics and make measurable progress. I also adapt my teaching style depending on the student’s age, learning needs and goals, while keeping lessons engaging and focused. Teaching is something I genuinely enjoy, particularly seeing students become more confident and independent over time. I am patient, reliable and enthusiastic, and I take pride in helping students achieve their academic goals while also developing a more positive attitude towards learning :)
