I had a great deal of success at degree level - having won academic prizes in all four years and conducted my own research on carbon fibre preforms. I also spent time using statistical techniques to conduct impact analysis at the University of Bath, where I was a PhD research student. In terms of tutoring, I have taught Further Maths A-level to a group of first year undergraduates and Further Maths GCSE to year 11 students. On top of this, I’ve had a number of online and face-to-face students, across a range of qualifications and exam boards. I love watching the lightbulb spark in my students and confidence blossom over time, allowing them to achieve their full potential. Finally, in my free time I enjoy going to the gym, running and doing puzzles. 1st class Master’s in Maths with Applied Mathematics, focussed on mathematical physics, scientific computation and statistics. During this time, I completed a summer research project on modelling the permeability of carbon fibre preforms and my dissertation on numerical methods for solving stochastic differential equations. I got full marks in my A-level Maths and Further Maths, and over the course of my A-level studies I spent time at the University of Cambridge and the University of Manchester. Finally, I was a PhD research student at the University of Bath where I studied impact analysis as well as Bayesian Methods and Quantum Computing.

Hi, my name is Tom, I'm currently an Aerospace Engineering student at the University of Birmingham. I have a love for all things mechanical and I'm particularly interested in aviation as well as being a big Formula 1 fan. I also love sports especially football and I play cricket for the University. I’m currently a 2nd-year Math student at KCL and I’ve been tutoring A-Level for the last two years. I finished my own A-Levels in 2023 with an A* in Maths, so the spec is still fresh in my head, but my degree work is now way beyond this level—meaning I can explain the "why" behind the hard topics, not just the "how." I am a recent graduate with a masters degree in physics from the University of Manchester, currently working as a theoretical physics researcher. I also have experience giving one on one classes to an A level physics student in London. I have always loved maths and physics and feel as though the key is to find the way of understanding the subject that works for you, and this is my approach to tutoring. I am also a big lover of music and food and spend a lot of my free time cooking and eating. I obtained A*s at A-level in physics, maths and spanish and went on to study an MPhys in physics at the University of Manchester, specialising in theoretical physics, from which I graduated with a first class degree. I'm a student at the university of Bath and if there's one thing you should know about me, it's that I love mathematics. From simple word problems to integrating complex functions, mathematics is a powerful (and beautiful) tool in understanding the world we live in.
