Secondary Level: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Combined Sciences Exam Boards: AQA & OCR A/B for all sciences Preferred Age Groups: Year 7 - 11 (Secondary school) Hi, I'm currently studying Biology at University, and would be thrilled to share my skills and knowledge by tutoring. From the get go science hooked me, be it the vast expanses of the cosmos, the planet we call home, the bodies we live in every second of our lives, or all the way down to the subatomic particles that build the fundamentals of life. It has always intrigued my mind and I would love to share that enthusiasm with aspiring students, so to do so I keep my sessions entangled with the hobbies and interests of my students which helps them engage with sessions more. Due to my strive for challenge I take up many hobbies, gaming being the most prevalent, it is a great outlet for creativity and has always helped me be quick to solutions, as well as push my competitive side out to the surface, games like God of War, Destiny and Neverwinter have allowed me to build the importance of depth in any aspect of life, as well as educate myself on the settings within said games. I'm also an avid reader gravitated towards the fantasy genre, personally I am a fan of Lord of The Rings, as well as all the other stories that J.R.R.Tolkien had written for the world of Arda, A Song of Ice & Fire is also another favourite of mine delving into a deep and dark setting, with a more pronounced adult tone, building a vast expansive world full of mystery, eldritch horror and slight bits of magic scattered around, while still emphasising the realistic nature of humans. Anime is one of my first passions an introduction to the Japanese language in the form of animation, flashy visuals and cultural phenomena that paved a path for the youth of my generation the art and creativity put into those shows has really instilled the same characteristics in me. HNC in Biological & Chemical Sciences.

Hi! My name is Layla, and I tutor Sciences, Maths, and English as a Foreign Language. I work with students of all ages, from primary and KS3 through to GCSE and A-Level, and I support all major exam boards. I help students with exam preparation, strengthening core skills, and building confidence in English communication. My teaching style is friendly and adaptable—I break down difficult topics into clear, simple steps, use real-life examples, and tailor lessons to each student’s learning style. I believe learning should be enjoyable as well as effective, and I aim to create a supportive environment where students feel motivated and confident. I completed my A-levels at a Sixth Form College in Biology, Maths, Chemistry, and an EPQ (Extended Project Qualification) dissertation, where I researched how sleep and stress intertwine and affect wellbeing. After finishing school, I spent my gap year in Istanbul, studying Arabic and Turkish, which gave me valuable cultural and language-learning experience. This year, I will be starting my degree in Mechanical Engineering at university, and I am excited to apply my strong foundation in maths and sciences to both my studies and my tutoring

Let’s make learning a truly empowering experience! I hold a Master of Science (MSc) in Molecular Biotechnology from the University of Hertfordshire (2021–2022), where I developed an in-depth understanding of molecular biology, genetics, cell biology, and protein science. My academic journey was complemented by extensive hands-on experience in research methods, laboratory techniques, and bioinformatics. I also gained exposure to cutting-edge technologies, including recombinant DNA technology, next-generation sequencing, and genomics—preparing me to contribute meaningfully to the rapidly evolving field of biotechnology. Prior to my master’s, I earned a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Biotechnology from Sri Shakthi Institute of Engineering & Technology, graduating in 2021. This program laid a strong foundation in biotechnological principles, computational tools, and analytical techniques. Through research projects and practical labs, I cultivated problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation in life sciences. Currently, I serve as a freelance Scientific Assistant at Protlab GPL Limited, where I assist in research, data collection, analysis, and report writing under the guidance of senior scientists. Alongside this, I actively tutor students in Maths, Physics, Chemistry, and English through platforms like Tutor Cambridge and freelance services. I specialize in personalized, interactive online lessons that adapt to each learner’s needs and pace. Beyond the sciences, I’ve also contributed in marketing and consultancy roles at Global Trade Fairs, where I led strategic campaigns, promoted global exhibitions, and provided digital marketing solutions to international clients. My journey has also included enriching internships in research, lab management, and clinical settings. Projects such as my study on chick embryo development and work on phytoremediation reflect my ability to conduct independent research and think critically. Passionate about both science and education, I continue to grow as a researcher, mentor, and educator—committed to making a lasting impact through innovation and learning.
