About me: Hi! I’m Irene. I have been involved in teaching for 2 years, having previously worked with students age 4-16 as a teaching assistant in the UK and in Spain. My experience has allowed me to develop my confidence in teaching students from KS1 all the way up to A-level. In addition, in my second and final year at University I tutored 1st year Biology students who were struggling with the jump from A-level to undergrad, helping them develop their statistical, critical analysis and exam writing skills. I’ve had many years of experience volunteering with schools helping students excel in subjects that they find difficult. I’ve always had a passion for science leading me to have a career in microbiology so I know tutoring biology would be a strong suit. Hopefully, I can encourage more students, especially young women to pursue a future in STEM. I loved maths back in school and I do find myself still doing random mathematical questions as I love the subject. I was my favourite back in school. My teacher made English enjoyable and allowed me to have creative responsibilities, making me want to pass that on to the next generation. But apart from my academics, Im very creative and enjoy doing lots of artistic hobbies such as painting and drawing. My most remarkable talent is drawing landscapes. As someone who was once a student, reaching for help in areas which I struggled with in my subjects was always a challenge.
