I am an experienced educator with over fifteen years in teaching and mentoring, now specialising in English, Psychology, and Sociology up to A-level. My academic background includes a BA in Sociology, a diploma in Counselling, ACCHP accreditation, and I am currently completing a Master’s in Psychology at the University of Portsmouth. This academic journey, combined with my teaching experience, allows me to provide learners with both subject expertise and practical strategies to achieve success. In English, I focus on building strong foundations in reading, writing, and critical analysis, helping learners gain the confidence to express themselves clearly and effectively. My Sociology and Psychology teaching draws on my academic knowledge and real-world insights, making lessons engaging and relevant by connecting theory to contemporary issues and everyday life. I believe that every learner has unique strengths, and I adapt my teaching style to meet individual needs. My counselling background helps me create a supportive environment where learners feel comfortable to ask questions, take risks, and develop resilience. Organised, approachable, and enthusiastic, I encourage students not only to meet their academic goals but also to grow in confidence and independent thinking. Above all, I am committed to inspiring curiosity, developing critical skills, and empowering learners to reach their full potential in their chosen subjects. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Education from Griffith University, Australia, where I developed a foundation in social theory, educational practice, and the ways in which learning is shaped by cultural and societal factors. This degree gave me valuable insights into both the structures of society and the transformative power of education. Building on this, I undertook a Level 4 Diploma in Counselling, which allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of human behaviour, communication, and emotional wellbeing. This qualification provided practical tools for supporting individuals and groups, strengthening my ability to create learning environments that are empathetic, inclusive, and responsive to different needs. Currently, I am completing a Master’s in Psychology at the University of Portsmouth, with only the final stage remaining. This advanced study has deepened my knowledge of psychological theory, research, and application. Hi, I’m Kayode Ewumi, an English tutor with a passion for helping students of all ages find joy in literature and language. From Year 6 to Year 13, I work with students to develop their reading, writing, and critical thinking skills, aiming to make English not just something they have to learn, but something they can truly enjoy and excel in. For me, teaching English is about more than just understanding grammar or memorizing quotes; it’s about helping students connect with the texts they read and empowering them to express their ideas clearly and confidently. Whether it’s analyzing a classic novel or improving essay-writing skills, I take pride in breaking down complex ideas into bite-sized, understandable pieces that students can relate to. I particularly enjoy working with new students because each one brings a fresh perspective and new challenge. I love discovering their strengths and helping them tackle areas that need improvement, especially when it comes to building confidence in their writing and comprehension. I believe every student has the ability to improve and succeed with the right guidance and support. It’s incredibly rewarding to see students grow and take ownership of their learning. I’m excited to help each of my students find their voice in English, and I look forward to seeing them not only succeed in their exams but also develop a lifelong love for reading and writing. I began my academic journey at St. Thomas the Apostle School, where I built a solid foundation across a range of subjects, particularly in the humanities. It was here that my interest in English and the arts first sparked. After completing my secondary education, I attended City and Islington College for my A-Levels, where I focused on subjects like English Literature and Language. The college environment provided a more focused, mature setting for my studies, and I was challenged to delve deeper into texts and engage in more analytical discussions. This experience solidified my commitment to pursuing a career that combined both my love for English and the performing arts. I then went on to study Theatre and English at Coventry University, a decision that allowed me to merge my two main academic interests. The university environment was intellectually stimulating, and I had the opportunity to explore both the literary world of English and the expressive, creative world of theatre. Throughout my degree, I honed my writing, critical analysis, and performance skills, which culminated in me graduating with First-Class Honours.

It has been brilliant experience of tutoring through go student for 12 months journey. My daughter had v good learning experience through online booked lessons weekly basis. Tutor was very understanding, full of good knowledge and energy. Also very flexible/adequate to the requirement. Tutor was very pleasant and was delivering good lessons to meet the require standard. I will definitely recommend this ‘Go Student’ company for online lessons for their children. They have all sorts of require standard yet my daughter was doing GCSE preparation with them. Also technical staff and customer service was excellent too as was in touch with me time to time for feedback. So if anyone looking for good online tuition please do join as it does works out better and under your budget not costly once you are on yearly plan and enough lesson package works out for the whole year! So strongly recommended! 👍🏻🙏🏻
