I have been tutoring online since May 2021, and I have lots of experience helping students to reach their goals and realise their true potential. I'm an award-winning writer and poet myself, and draw upon my wide experience in creative writing and linguistics to help my students build better reflexes in both English and French. I'm currently working towards my MA in French & Music at the University of Glasgow. and I'm incredibly enthusiastic about learning, travelling and getting to know people of all backgrounds. Hi, I’m Sophie! I love teaching Maths and English, and have experience in tutoring students from 11+ to A Level. I achieved straight 9s in my GCSEs and A*s and As in A Levels, and have a particular interest in the philosophy of mathematics. My lessons focus on breaking down challenging ideas into manageable, clear steps, while building the confidence and problem-solving skills needed to succeed in exams. First and foremost, I approach teaching with genuine enthusiasm and a passion for the subject, and I hope to inspire that same curiosity in my students. I think that gaining confidence is fundamental to succeeding in any subject: even those which can initially feel difficult or intimidating can become genuinely enjoyable once they are explained in the right way.
