GCSE: English, History A Level: English Experience: KS3/KS4 Languages: Urdu, Hindi Preferred: GCSE, A Level A journalism graduate with a love for all things reading, writing, photography and cinema related! Being able to immerse in something like books or a movie at the cinema really enables me to escape for a little bit and come back seeing the world in a different light- Writing and photography are my forms of expressions. As my favourite quote from Harry Potter perfectly puts it - “Words are, in my not-so-humble opinion, our most inexhaustible source of magic. Capable of both inflicting injury, and remedying it.” As for the photography; a perfect way to capture a moment or event where words fail to convey the true emotion in its depth! BA Journalism - University of the Arts London: Studying Journalism really enabled me to further grasp and develop my passion for English, as well as enabling me to develop my interpersonal skills. Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training - SCCD.

Hello! My name is Najma and I study History at the University of Birmingham. I studied History, English Lit and Religious Studies at A-Level so I understand the stresses that come with essay-based subjects! Throughout my life, I have been taught by some incredible tutors and I hope that I can not only help you succeed in your exams, but also grow in confidence. I aim to make the sessions as relaxed as possible as I know how stressful school can get. My sessions will be tailored to you, ensuring that your academic needs are met. In order to find out what you want to work on, we can have a Trial session where we can get to know other as well as discussing your goals. From there, I will make a thorough lesson plan which specifically caters to you. During the sessions, an emphasis will be placed on exam techniques which will allow you to answer questions effectively. I will also offer useful revision tips and help you make resources (to spare you the chaos that is last-minute flashcard-making!) Hi! I'm Eve. Levels & Subjects I teach: The subjects I can tutor are English Literature and English Language at a lower and GSCE level, and also History at lower, GSCE, and A-Level. Exam Board experience: Although I have personally sat my exams with the AQA exam board (meaning I have the most experience with their particular content), I am adaptable and can tutor for any exam board necessary! Languages: I am fluent in English. SEND (Special Education Needs and Disability) experience: I have yet to gain experience with SEND. Preferred Student Age group: My preferred student ages are GSCE and A-Level, but I am completely happy and able to provide tutoring for all ages! About me: I am a third year History and Philosophy student, who has always loved English, history, and the arts. My degree has made it possible for me to learn more in-depth about my favourite areas of history - particularly the cold war and feminist history - and to continue my passion for English by taking minor classes in Classics. In my GSCES, I received a 7 in both English Lit and English Language, and an 8 in History. At A-Level, I received an A in History. Some of my favourite past-times are reading (both novels and poetry), listening to music, and designing and sewing clothes. My current favourite read is The Odyssey by Homer, and The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde - both of which I highly recommend. I am excited to gain more experience in tutoring the subjects I love, and I look forward to hopefully working with some of you!

I'm Joe a, final year politics student at the Univeristy of Liverpool. During my time at university and before I've enjoyed tutoring originally only in person but for the last three years with GoStudent, aside from this, I'm currently involved with multiple societies such as the Ski, Badminton and Pool societies. Moreover, my interest in politics and social sciences is not confined to my degree, I enjoy reading on these topics outside of the University reading list, particularly history. Through this variety of interests, tutoring is something which simultaneously benefits from them and aids them by expanding my own understanding of these topics. Therefore tutoring is more akin to a hobby than a job for me due to my enjoyment of it. Throughout, my academic career I have enjoyed a wide range of subjects. originally my interests were only in history, and although this is still a favourite, my areas of knowledge have grown more varied. For instance, I'm now studying politics at university, which has been a great eye-opener. Furthermore studying politics has brought me into contact with more areas of study such as economics, media, business and geography. However, I have studied all of these to varying levels before university. My interest has led to me attaining a 2:1 grade each year of study. Moreover last year I spent a year in industry at Liverpool City Council putting the theory into practice further adding to my understanding of all the subjects mentioned above. Finally, tutoring has only added to my academic knowledge, they say the best way to learn something is to teach it to someone else, and I'm certainly a believer in that.

I am an undergraduate student, studying English at University of Nottingham. I have experience with both young children and teenagers, and enjoy both making learning fun, and helping young people meet their full potential! I'm friendly and proactive, and have experience working with children with a variety of needs. Most importantly, I believe learning should be suited to the student, not the teacher! I enjoy writing during my free-time, particularly for Nottingham's student publication, and working with young people - whether through sports teams, after-school clubs, or tutoring. I studied at a state comprehensive school in London, where I achieved 10 A*'s-B's at GCSE - including a B in Maths, A's in Science, and A's in both English Language and Literature - and A's and B's at A-Level. I'm currently an undergraduate student studying English, the subject where my strengths most definitely lie. I previously studied in London while working full-time, and am interested in pursuing a TEFL to teach young people English as a second-language.

GCSE/Junior Certificate: English Literature, History, Classics. A- Level/Leaving Certificate: English Literature, History, Classics. Exam Board Experience: Providing lessons for Irish Junior Certificate and Leaving Certificate subjects Experience with: Students from 12-18 in the Irish schooling system Students from 4 - Adult teaching ESL in an online environment Adult students teaching ESL individually in person. Adept at teaching to students for whom English is not their first language. Languages: English- Native Speaker Spanish- Basic Preferred student age group: Any age About me: Hello there, My name is John O'Byrne and I am from Ireland I have been teaching for a number of years now, Over the past few years I have been teaching English as a Second Language, I have taught online for over two years and before that I taught Academic English, Business English and Conversational English to individual students in a face to face setting. In university I studied a wide range of subjects including Philosophy, History, English and Arth History before I chose the areas I would focus on for my degree. Eventually I decided on Ancient Greek and Roman Civilization alongside Politics and I was awarded a degree with honours from University College Dublin. After graduation I was invited to participate in their Masters programme but I declined their kind invitation as I wanted a break from the academic life. While in university I participated in a tutoring programme where we went to a number of schools and helped students to prepare for their examinations. I tutored groups of students in a range of subjects but mainly concentrated on English Literature and History. These years tutoring were very rewarding as the students were from under-privileged schools and were quite appreciative of all the help we gave them. Cycling is a passion of mine and as my skill in riding bicycles developed I was given opportunities to work with a few different bicycle companies. I was given bicycles and components in order to test their design and durability. I was also asked to preform in a number of marketing campaigns and advertisements for these bicycle companies. The learning processes in the physical arena and the academic arena are quite similar, they involve focus, critical thinking, repetition and study. These processes can be sped up to a certain extent if you have someone to guide you through them. I was also given the opportunity to teach bicycle skills to various groups of people and I really enjoyed this experience. I enjoy travelling and have lived for periods of time in Sweden and Spain. I have always loved learning and I continue to read about a wide range of subjects including Philosophy, Linguistics, Psychology and works in the areas I studied during my degree. So with this background I believe I can help tutor students in English as a Second Language, English Literature, History and Classics. I hope to see you in class where we can find ways to make the subject you may be having difficulties with interesting and relevant to you. Thank you. I studied in University College Dublin where I was awarded a BA degree with honours in Ancient Greek + Roman Civilization, and Politics. When I graduated I was invited to stay on to complete a Masters Degree in Classics but I declined. During my time in UCD I also studied Philosophy, English and History before I decided on completing my degree in Ancient Greek + Roman Civilization along with Politics. I have studied to teach English as a second language and earned my ESL teaching certification from TEFL.org.
