Hello! My name is Isla, and I am a passionate tutor studying Primary Education at the University of Winchester. I have over a year of tutoring experience and have spent time in a student teach role in Primary Schools working with all abilities and SEND. I am also studying SEND as a specialism. My love for teaching stems from a desire to make a positive impact on young lives and help students reach their full potential. I have a comprehensive knowledge in all areas of education, having achieved highly in both GCSEs and A-levels. In addition to my formal education, I have also had the opportunity to gain valuable experience through teaching placement in schools. This has allowed me to apply my theoretical knowledge in real-life situations and has helped me to develop a range of effective teaching techniques. I believe that every student can succeed, and it is my goal as a tutor to help each student reach their full potential. Whether a student needs support in a specific subject areas or help with study skills and exam technique, I am committed to providing a supportive and encouraging learning environment. My approach to tutoring is centred around tailoring each session to meet the specific needs of each student as I believe that every student is unique and that a one-size-fits-all approach is not effective. Instead, I work closely with my students to identify their strengths and weaknesses, and to develop a customized plan to help them achieve their goals. I am excited to continue my journey as a tutor, making positive impacts on the lives of all my students. I am currently accepting new students for the 2025-2026 school year and beyond. Please contact me for availability. I have completed 10 GCSEs in: English Literature, English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Spanish, History, Drama and Photography, with grades between 6 - 9 with my Science, Maths and English Grades at 8-9 level. I have completed 3 A levels in Biology, Chemistry and Maths with grades A-C. I am currently studying at University of Winchester and am in my 3rd and Final Year of my Primary Education Bachelor's Degree where I am specialising in Additional Needs. I have also completed additional qualifications in First Aid, Philosophy for Children and a Level 5 LAMDA Award for Acting. I thoroughly enjoy learning and being able to give that joy to my students and have had the incredible opportunity to work within a variety of school settings putting my theory into practice and seeing my students thrive.

I’ve had many years of experience volunteering with schools helping students excel in subjects that they find difficult. I’ve always had a passion for science leading me to have a career in microbiology so I know tutoring biology would be a strong suit. Hopefully, I can encourage more students, especially young women to pursue a future in STEM. I loved maths back in school and I do find myself still doing random mathematical questions as I love the subject. I was my favourite back in school. My teacher made English enjoyable and allowed me to have creative responsibilities, making me want to pass that on to the next generation. Apart from my educational background, I enjoy art, allowing me to be more creative and express myself in a different light. But apart from my academics, Im very creative and enjoy doing lots of artistic hobbies such as painting and drawing. My most remarkable talent is drawing landscapes. I also am a big movie buff so hopefully, I can if I have that in common with a student I use that to tailor lessons for them. BSc (Hons) Biomedical Sciences Primary: Maths, English, Sciences, 11+ exam, and entrance GCSE: Maths, English Literature, English Language, Biology, Chemistry, History Exam Board Experience: AQA, OCR, Edexcel, 11+, SJT Student Age: Upper Primary (Year 5-6) and Secondary (GCSE)

I'm Sophie, I am 24 and I come from the Highlands of Scotland. I am an experienced tutor with three years experience on this platform alone with experience of tutoring privately and volunteering. I teach various subjects such as History, Biology, Human Biology, and English. I am extremely experienced in helping students build up their confidence and capability for their exams. I have personal experience with the SQA exam board but I have equal capability in teaching my subjects to other exam board standards and to students of any age and level. Outwith tutoring, I enjoy spending my time reading books, walking my two dogs and playing video games on my Xbox. Levels and Subjects: I teach National 4 and 5, Higher, Advanced Higher, GCSE and A-level for History, English Language and Literature, Biology and Human Biology for SQA, AQA, Edexcel, OCR, iGCSE. SEND Experience: I have autism and anxiety which allows me to understand students who may be experiencing similar issues that I faced in school. This allows me to share knowledge and learning techniques that better suit neurodivergent students. I have worked with students with dyslexia, ADHD, autism so I have an awareness of how these conditions affect everyone differently and can support the student accordingly. I have recently graduated from the University of St Andrews with a joint Masters in Ancient History and Medieval History (2:1). I have Advanced Higher qualifications in Biology (B)and History(A) and have Higher grades for Human Biology (A), P.E (A), Chemistry (C) and English (A) along with a National 5 qualification in Maths(B). Alongside my expansive range of History subjects I have studied at university, I have additionally studied Classics, Arabic Culture and Astrobiology. I am well versed in Ancient Roman and Greek history along with Medieval Europe, but I am equally knowledgable and capable with teaching more modern history topics. I am well read and have studied and taught the majority of texts required for English literature, with my favourites being 'An Inspector Calls' and 'Macbeth.' My Biology knowledge is strong across all exam boards and I have a particular interest in Astrobiology. Further I am very experienced with children from ages of 5 to 17, I volunteered for multiple sports groups in my area as a Sports Leader to run clubs and have gained an SQA recognised coaching qualification for netball.

Hello! :) My name is Cécile and I am twenty-five years of age. In 2021, I graduated from De Montfort University, Leicester with a Bachelors Degree in Drama and I am currently working full-time as an Insurance Consultant whilst also supporting students on their academic journeys (big highlight of the week)! :) I started my tutoring journey during my A-Level years (between 2016-2018). Despite this only being once a week, I started helping year seven or eights who were struggling with their English homework during my free periods. The tutoring then progressed to university where I did teaching modules alongside my degree (to which, I received a First grading) and started teaching English/French to private students, throughout the nearby Leicester area. I have been established on the GoStudent platform as a freelance tutor since the January of 2022 and on the 4th of January 2024, I received my 500th lesson certificate. To summarise, I have delivered over 850 lessons on this platform alone, to date. Collectively, I have just over eight years worth of tutoring experience or I possess three and a half years worth, on a continuous basis. Throughout this time, I have encouraged an array of students who vary in different strengths and abilities, to reach their goals! I teach the following subjects: Drama, English, History and French. Drama and English are both taught from, Primary through to Degree level. History is taught from GCSE through to A-Level. French is taught from Primary through to GCSE or I also teach French to individuals who are looking to learn the language, from scratch - I possess dual nationality (as you can probably tell by my name) :) I also conduct lessons providing coursework and exam help. I love keeping active, listening to music/podcasts, playing with my cats and helping others succeed, is the icing on top of the cake! If I can help someone achieve their goals, then that is a day well spent :) I possess over eight years worth of tutoring experience and that includes both, face to face as well as online. In 2016, I passed and achieved thirteen GCSE's, nine of which vary from B - A* grades. - Bishop Walsh Catholic School, Birmingham. In 2018, I passed and achieved three A-Levels in Drama, History and Biology. - Bishop Walsh Catholic School, Birmingham. In 2021, I graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Drama including a First Class for my Dissertation. - De Montfort University, Leicester. In 2024, I started my Cert CII and I am aiming to have my full Chartership in Insurance, by November 2025. Throughout my degree: I received a First Class Honors for my 'Education and the Performing Arts' module which has proven fruitful with tutoring. This consolidated my understanding of the performing arts education policy, pedagogy, curriculum design, and assessment in a time of educational, economic, technological and social change. It also allowed me to construct innovative ways towards lesson exploration including within the SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) sector. I can confidently say that I have explored the place of the performing arts in the evolving English education system and in the early years, informal, community and therapy settings. My degree allowed me to submerse myself into various fields of education and resultantly, have the right exposure towards assisting students within the following categories: - EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage/s). - SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities). - Primary Education. - Secondary Education. - Mature learning.

ABOUT ME I have a deep interest in history, human and physical geography, anthropology, technology, architecture and engineering. I especially enjoy the history and geography of languages and language families. I am a keen traveller, audiophile and technophile, with a love for all kinds of technologies, analogue and digital, new and old. Thanks to COVID I learnt a lot of DIY skills through necessity. My house also has a garden full of fruit trees, so I guess that would make me an amateur gardener by default. I try to keep fit by cycling when possible, but my favourite sport is swimming. TEACHING EXPERIENCE/PREFERENCES The subjects I teach are History, English Literature and Language for GCSE and A-level, as well as EFL/ESL English. I tend to teach students aged 14+, so from Year 9 to Year 13 or older, but I do have a few students younger than this. I use a variety of teaching approaches, ranging from traditional methods of text analysis to modern forms of teaching, such as interactive quizzes, questionnaires and even YouTube videos if they benefit the students learning style. Exam Board Experience: AQA, Edexcel and OCR in the main. WJEC/Eduqas to a lesser extent. Languages:- English: as a first language to advanced level. Turkish: fluent to college level.

Hello there! Hope you are well. My name is Joshua Hailey and my pronouns are he/him. I have been an online tutor for around three years, and I hope this 'About Me' section gives you an insight into who I am and my teaching style. Before I go into more detail about who I am, I would urge you to read the testimonials, (at the bottom of this section), from some of my current parents whose children I am teaching! These statements can help you make an informed decision and, (hopefully), choose me as your child's next tutor. I am an English Literature BA (Hons) graduate who studied at the University of Portsmouth. In September 2024 I am undertaking a Masters in Modern and Contemporary Literature from the University of Leicester. With over two years tutoring experience, a strong work ethic and excellent time management skills, I have challenged and supported students across all educational stages, including primary school pupils right up to A Level students! I want your child to succeed and I truly believe they can do this! My lessons are varied, fun, but get the work done! Education is not 'one size fits all', and online tutoring is the perfect example of this. My sessions will see your child grow from strength to strength, as they learn new concepts and methods of success in their respective subject. You will not find me simply reading off a screen for the entire lesson, but you can expect interactivity to drive every single lesson that I will (hopefully) have with your child! In addition to English tuition, I also offer Primary Maths, 11+ and History. I have experience supporting students in all these subjects, and have completed them to a GCSE/A Level standard (for more information on this, please see my 'Academic Background' section). In summary, I promise to adopt a customised learning plan and positive ethos for your child across all sessions. As the parent, you deserve to feel included in your child's progress. I will endeavour to regularly update you through messages, comprehensive written reports and periodic phone calls should you want them! Here is a full list of the subjects I offer depending on the age of your child: Reception-Year 9: Maths (Primary age only), English Language, English Literature, SPaG, Reading, Comprehension, Literacy, History, 11+ (For 11+ I can only offer English and Verbal Reasoning so please keep this in mind.) GCSE: History, (Edexcel and AQA), English Language (including the Speaking and Listening component), English Literature (AQA, OCR or Edexcel), SPaG, Reading skills Exam Board Experience: AQA, Edexcel and OCR. Languages I speak: English SND Experience: Little to no real-life experience, but I have had mentoring from an SND tutor As mentioned at the start of this, here are some written testimonials from some parents of the students I teach. I hope this enables you to see how beneficial I can be for your child's education! Jaydon's, (a year 3 English student), parent says: 'Joshua is a wonderful tutor and has the ability to engage with children in a warm and nurturing way. He is excellent at engaging my somewhat headstrong son and has not only picked up on his strengths, but is encouraging him to build on them which is increasing his confidence. Joshua’s subject knowledge is second to none, but what makes him wonderful tutor has been his ability to get to know my son, understand his way of thinking and adapt a teaching style that brings out his best work. Homework, the reinforcement of topics learnt in session and the positive feedback has really helped to my son progress well in English. My son looks forward to his sessions with Joshua every week.' Archie's, (a recent GCSE student), parent says: 'We couldn’t have asked for a better tutor than Josh. My son was struggling with his GCSE English Literature and after just one session with Josh, he felt so much more confident with the subject. There was a lot to cover but Josh set out carefully planned revision sessions leading up to and during the exams that covered all the topics. So by the time the exams came my son felt able to tackle anything that came up. Josh is incredibly amiable and knowledgeable and put my son at ease straight away. I would definitely recommend Josh to anyone who is looking for an excellent English tutor.' Kimiya's, (an 11+ Verbal Reasoning student), parent says: 'Kimiya has been having lessons with Josh for almost a year. She has improved significantly and is getting better day by day. Kimiya really enjoys the lessons with Josh and is always looking forward to their next lesson. Josh makes the lessons fun and makes sure that Kimiya has understood the subject before ending the lessons. We are very happy and lucky to have him tutoring Kimiya.' So... what are you waiting for! Are you ready to see your child thrive? Let's do this! I am an English Literature BA (Hons) graduate who studied at the University of Portsmouth. I am currently completing a Masters degree in Modern and Contemporary Literature from the University of Leicester. Below are my other qualifications and their examination boards. If you decide to choose me as the tutor for your child I am more than happy to go into detail about my qualifications at your first session! Please note the examination board of each qualification is in brackets. This does not mean I am not able to teach an alternative exam board for your child. Feel free to address any concerns around this at our first session. GCSEs: Biology (AQA) - 5 Chemistry (AQA) - 4 Drama (AQA) - 6 English Language (AQA) - 6 English Language (Speaking and Listening) (AQA) - Distinction English Literature (AQA) - 6 French (AQA) - 5 History (Edexcel) - 7 Mathematics (AQA) - 5 Physics (AQA) - 5 A Levels: Drama (AQA) - A English Literature (OCR) - B Psychology (AQA) - B Extended Project Qualification (Level 3, AQA) - A*[star] (Focus was on the poetry of Elizabeth Barrett Browning and the presentation of female stereotypes within literature and history throughout the Victorian era) Degree (English Literature BA (Hons) from the University of Portsmouth): First Class

Ceri is absolutely brilliant with my 6yo son. He's a bouncy Duracell bunny of a kid, but she manages to keep him pretty engaged and interested during the lessons. The lessons are tailored to what he loves and she's great at adapting and changing things up to maintain his attention. We've already seen a real improvement in his spelling and writing since tutoriing with Ceri.
