About Me: Hi, I'm Evie, I have worked as an assistant and supply teacher for children of all ages, though I prefer to teach primary and secondary aged children. I'm a very relaxed person and am happy to adjust my teaching to the way each student works best. In my spare time I enjoy physical hands on hobbies, like baking, playing the keyboard, cross-stitch and dance. What I teach: Lower Level: Science, Geography and History GCSE: Biology, Geography and History A-Level (IB): Biology & History Exam Board experience: - Edexcel - AQA - OCR I have A levels in Biology(B), Tudor History(B)and Geology(A), and I will be attending The university of Leeds in September for Environmental Sciences. I am on the younger side, so I'm very familiar with the current expectations on students taking GCSE's and A levels, as well as the resources they have available. Something I think is essential to being able to connect with and teach the current curriculum to students.

Hello! I’m Teacher Kolleen, a passionate and dedicated educator with seven years of teaching and tutoring experience. I have had the privilege of teaching a wide range of subjects—Math, English, and Science for primary and lower secondary students, as well as Music, Arts, and Computer Technology at the upper secondary level. My greatest motivation comes from witnessing those “Aha!” moments when students finally grasp challenging concepts. I particularly enjoy guiding learners through mathematics, and I have successfully helped both local and international students prepare for assessments such as the National Achievement Test (NAT). My teaching approach is dynamic, student-centered, and engaging. I adapt to each learner’s unique needs by incorporating visual aids, charts, and digital tools for visual learners. I make lessons meaningful by connecting academic concepts to real-life examples and integrating interactive activities like puzzles, word hunts, and Sudoku to sustain interest and curiosity. For example, when teaching Linear Functions—a topic students often find abstract—I relate it to everyday experiences, such as calculating a taxi fare. This helps them understand slope and y-intercept intuitively before translating them into equations, tables, and graphs. By combining hands-on examples, visuals, and guided practice, I help students gain confidence and clarity. Outside the classroom, I nurture my creativity through music and art—I love singing, painting, and playing the piano, guitar, and ukulele. I’m eager to bring my enthusiasm and expertise to your team to help students thrive. Hello, I’m Teacher Kolleen, and I’d like to share a bit about my educational background and professional training. I graduated with a degree of Bachelor of Elementary Education, major in General Education. During my undergraduate years, I was an Academic Excellence Awardee, a Dean’s Lister, and a scholar under the Tulong Pang-Edukasyon para sa Bulakenyo program. I also served as Treasurer of the COEd-Generalist Society and worked as a student assistant at the College of Science and Mathematics. To further enhance my leadership and management skills, I am currently completing my thesis for the Master of Arts in Educational Management at Bulacan State University Graduate School, having already finished 39 academic units. I also continue to expand my knowledge through online learning. At the University of the Philippines Open University, I completed micro courses in Graphic Design and Typography, Business Analytics, and Technology for Teaching and Learning. In addition, I trained with Canva Design School, taking up programs such as AI in the Classroom, Graphic Design Essentials, and Teaching Essentials. Over the years, I’ve also developed strong skills in online teaching, Microsoft Office 365, Google Workspace, Adobe Suites, and Canva Professional. As a Licensed Professional Teacher, I believe that continuous learning and innovation are key to empowering today’s learners and preparing them for the future.

Hello ! I'm Sadie, 19 and currently completing an undergraduate degree in International Disaster Management and Humanitarian Response in Manchester. I am passionate about learning and enjoy helping others build confidence in their academic abilities. I completed my secondary education in 2025, where I focused on Geography, Religious Studies and Chemistry, and have continued to develop my knowledge and passion for geography through my university course. I have experience supporting younger students with exam preparation, having taken part in a peer coaching scheme for 2 years whilst at school. Through this, I have learned the importance of patience, structure and encouragement in helping students succeed. It also taught me how best to adapt my teaching style to suit individual learning needs and aim to create a supportive learning environment. In my free time I enjoy reading, travelling and hiking, especially since moving to Manchester where I am now right on the doorstep of the beautiful peak district ! I look forward to helping students achieve their goals and gain confidence in their studies. In 2023, I completed 10 GCSEs at the Cotswold School, Bourton on the Water. I have gained valuable tutoring experience in Mathematics, Biology, and Chemistry by working with students across a range of ages, abilities, and UK exam boards. I have supported students who are studying GCSEs (as well as the Scottish equivalents) under AQA, Edexcel (Pearson), OCR and other boards, so I understand that each board has its own style of questions, emphasis, and mark schemes. This allows me to tailor my teaching to what students actually need for their specific exams, rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. In Mathematics, I have helped students build confidence in topics from core numeracy and algebra through to higher-level work such as trigonometry, statistics, and calculus. Many students arrive feeling anxious about maths, so I focus on breaking problems into manageable steps and showing that mistakes are part of learning. In Biology, I support students with topics like cells, human body systems, genetics, and ecology, helping them move beyond memorising facts to truly understanding processes and using correct scientific language. For Chemistry, I have worked with students across many topics such as bonding, calculations, reactions, and organic chemistry, often using clear explanations and practice questions to make abstract ideas feel more concrete. I have worked with students who have learning difficulties, those who need extra support as well as those aiming for top grades. Above all, I try to create a calm, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions. My aim is not just to improve results, but to help students feel more confident, capable, and prepared for their exams. Completed a Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics, graduating with First Class Honours in 2024. Achieved excellent A-Level results in Mathematics, Biology, and Chemistry, earning grades A and A*. Also obtained 10 GCSEs at grades A and A*, demonstrating a strong and consistent academic record across core scientific and analytical subjects.

I'm currently a veterinary medicine student at university, slated to graduate in 2030. I have two younger brothers and have always been one of those strange children who enjoyed going to school for the learning, not just the fun. Outside of education I am a knitter, a crocheter, a badminton player, and an avid creative writer. I was involved in Scouts for two years and was part of the National Honour Society in high school, a society for students in American high schools that select members based on four pillars: academics, character, service, and leadership. I enjoy explaining things and hope to ensure that my students gain a greater appreciation of the subject matter, but I will settle for getting them through their exams if that's all they want. I attended CAJ, an international high school in Japan that following the American curriculum. I took 10 AP subjects, which are slightly narrower in scope but no less thorough in depth than A levels, and scored 5s (highest score) in all but English language, where I scored a 3 (pass mark). The AP subjects I took were Japanese, Calculus AB, Calculus BC, Statistics, Physics 1, Physics 2, Chemistry, Biology, English Language and Comprehension, and English Literature and Composition.

What is Key Stage 1?
Key Stage 1 (KS1) is the name given to Year 1 and Year 2 at primary schools, when pupils are aged between 5 and 7. It sets out which subjects must be taught as part of the national curriculum, which is followed by state schools.
Your child may be tested on what they have learned at the end of KS1. These assessments are known as SATs (which stands for ‘Standardised Assessment Tests’). They are not pass/fail tests but simply provide an indication of your child’s progress. It is not compulsory for schools to take the SATs in KS1.
What are the main subjects studied at Key Stage 1?
The KS1 curriculum is designed to introduce children to the core subjects they will learn throughout their school career.
The subjects are:
Religious Education (RE) is also taught, but parents can choose for their children to opt out of some or all the lessons. Schools usually also teach Personal, Social and Health Dducation (PSHE), citizenship and modern foreign languages.
How is Key Stage 1 assessed?
Children undertake a phonics screening check at the end of Year 1, which evaluates their reading and pronunciation skills.
Schools who do not take the SATs will use their own assessment systems to track the progress children in their school are making.
If your school takes the SATs, the subjects are:
The focus of Key Stage 1
KS1 is where a child begins to develop their skills and understanding in the key subjects taught in the curriculum.
Speaking, reading and writing are considered core skills as mastery of the English language is central to developing an understanding in all subjects.
In KS1 maths, children to begin to understand mathematical language, understand the fundamentals and begin to solve problems by applying this knowledge.
In addition, teaching children about healthy habits and different belief systems can help them become well-rounded individuals who understand the world around them.
How to choose a Key Stage 1 tutor
Children are all different and progress at different rates. Some will need extra support in building core skills or improving confidence, and others may need more of a challenge to keep them engaged. Either way, lessons need to be personalised to meet their individual needs.
