Hi, I am Faheemah and I am a qualified teacher/tutor with experience of working with students from Primary to pre-university. I love learning and believe learning is a lifelong process and I hope on our journey together, I can inspire a love for learning in you too! I am an experienced maths teacher/ lecturer. Currently, I work in a training centre, prior to this I have worked in a FE college for more than 6 years, teaching GCSE and functional skills maths. I have also taught ESL to adult groups. I have the experience teaching face to face and online using different platforms. I always worked with children with Special Educational needs from different back grounds. In addition, I worked in primary school supporting year 6 learners to build their maths skills to pass their SATs, before that I was teaching Arabic and Tajweed rules age of 5yrs up to adults. Hi! My name is Emaan and I'm currently doing my Master's in Engineering at Politecnico di Torino. Mathematics was my favorite subject growing up. I felt as though once I comprehended some rules, everything would begin to fall into place. Which is why I loved learning as well as teaching it. I'm literally so overjoyed to have had the amazing opportunity to join GoStudent as a tutor back in April 2023 and I just wanted to elaborate further on my academic and in addition extracurricular skills which have equipped me greatly to be able to shine a light on my own capabilities as well as my weaknesses at this time! I think that I have developed my communication skills via group work with the rest of the tutors and programme coordinators and also have had the privilege to really just go into further detail about what actually makes me tick and I really appreciate how supportive everyone has been in terms of my development and progress thus far. But how about he excitement of sharing a wonderful session with my tutees? We usually discuss the relevance of outside-of-the-box thinking and how phenomenal it is when the student and their loved ones get to choose what will happen during the lesson itself and also set the standards regarding the content to be covered so the sessions are usually quite fun and engaging to be honest! :-) I really enjoyed my time at the UCL School of Pharmacy while studying for the MPharm degree and I am just waiting to be able to sit some deferred final year exams and graduate hopefully quite soon following a recent gap year actually. I did graduate with a first in MSci in Pharmaceutical Studies back in October 2022. Now I am just in the process of applying for medical school and tend to spend my free time on either reading novels, playing the keyboard or making artsy-craftsy notes which will hopefully contribute towards a revision blog that I am starting to establish. I also like going for walks and exploring all sorts of new exciting places within London. I did of course go to Exeter medical school back in 2017 and left (for personal reasons such as the PBL structure of the course) before joining UCL in 2018. This means I am quite agile when it comes to things like discussing interview techniques and CV requirements if needed for individual students. I also tend to motivate my tutees to stay and CONTINUE with what they are doing rather than back away, especially in the face of challenges! This is because I myself wish I hadn't left medicine and now am re-applying so it indicates my perseverence and understanding of the new and surprising aspects of the course! ;)

Science and Maths has a huge importance in my life, a lot of it to do with my degree but also because of an interest I have in me.
