Hi everyone, my name's Saoban, but you can call me Sao. I’m a medical student whose focus is on Biology, Chemistry, and Maths, but I can teach a range of subjects. My academic background is science-focused, which medicine requires a strong foundation in. I apply this directly in my teaching. Outside of teaching and medicine, I’m interested in fitness, health science, and personal development. I enjoy understanding how the body works and how small improvements compound over time - I find the same principle applies to studying. I am an enthusiastic and dedicated individual with a strong passion for teaching and supporting children in their academic development. Alongside my academic background, I have a wide range of interests, including playing sports and cooking different recipes, which I enjoy in my free time. Levels and Subjects I teach: I’m an English and History teacher with GoStudent. I can teach these at GCSE and A Level. As a professional writer I can offer academic and creative writing classes to adults and higher level students. I am a teacher of environmental science. I have an MSc in Conservation Ecology and extensive field experience in Latin America, Africa and Asia. When not working, I love hiking, film, theatre, acting, travel, snorkelling, diving, photography, and martial arts. I also run workshops in creative writing. I have an MSc in Conservation Ecology from Oxford Brookes University. I decided to do this degree after living and working in Latin America, Africa and South East Asia for many years. Living and working as a guide, writer, and conservationist in these places inspired my love of the natural world. My degree is in acting and performance art. I was lucky enough to attend East 15 Acting School (which is now part of the University of East London) to study. I worked as an actor for many years, and I often include roleplay and drama in my lessons. For my A levels I studied English (A), Art (A) and Geography (B).

I am currently completing a PhD in Economics at NTU. As such I have deep subject knowledge and a profound understanding of mathematical and quantitative methods. I have studied and tutored A-level and undergraduate Mathematics and Economics in successful peer-mentoring programmes, utilising my skills to help struggling students attain their goals. I am personable in my teaching and so I employ patience and discussion to ensure a thorough and comprehensive understanding of subject content. I am able to recognise when a concept is not understood and present it in various ways to suit the student and assist in understanding. I then help students apply this to problems to ensure a deep understanding of subject matter.
