Hi there! I'm Emily and I'm from the UK. Lessons with me as your tutor will be interactive and dynamic. Whichever the subject is, I will be ensuring that I cater the content of my lessons to your individual needs. Alongside my academic studies, I have always worked hard to support myself. These roles have predominantly been working with children in the psychological field but also online tutoring. I have 4 years of experience teaching English online as a Foreign Language and 1.5 years of experience online tutoring in psychology and sociology. I enjoy helping people. I want to become a consummate professional in this field. I am a reliable, dedicated and hard-working individual. This is proven by my academic history, which includes eleven GCSEs, three A-Levels, a degree in Psychology at the undergraduate level and a master's degree in Child and Adolescent Psychology. At GCSE, I achieved 9 A* in; Maths, Further Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Business Studies, Digital technology, English, and, Religious Education. I achieved an A in GCSE German. At A level, I achieved an A* in Maths, Chemistry, and, Biology. Exam Board: I completed all my GCSEs and A levels under the Northern Ireland CCEA exam board (NICCEA i.e. Northern Ireland Council for the Curriculum, Examinations & Assessment). Experience with: I have experience of the NICCEA and AQE system; at GCSE and A level, and, 11+ level respectively. I have experience tutoring a student for the 11+ exam, who completed the exam and got into his first choice (grammar) school. I have also experience working as a classroom assistant for ages 5-7, teaching them basic maths and money skills; helping them to really grasp the basics. I do not really have a preference with regards to age group or subject. About me: I am a 21 year old, second year Medical student at Trinity College Dublin. I am a football enthusiast; both as a player and a fan, and, also work with 11-13 year olds as a teacher in my church Sunday school. I also play a bit of piano after achieving up to Grade 6, although this is more of a hobby than a real skill in all honesty! I am a logical thinker and good communicator; with a large emphasis on being able to understand the question and the problem and then being able to solve it. For certain age groups, I will be using past paper questions to help build technique in answering common questions and, therefore, a create a strong foundation for more difficult questions. However, it is imperative topics are understood before they are tested so more fundamental teaching will always be put in place before questions. Apart from GCSEs and A levels, I don’t have any other ‘main’ qualifications but I’ve achieved Gold in a UKMT Maths Challenge and also completed the Chemistry Olympiad at A level. I also completed optional Scholarship exams at Trinity College Dublin, and am now a funded Medical Scholar for the rest of my degree. I have also completed the medical entrance exams, achieving 3180 99th percentile in UCAT, and 189 95% percentile in HPAT. Hi! My name is David and I tutor maths. I graduated from the University of Leicester in 2023 with a First in Mathematics and have been tutoring A-level students over the last three years. From experience, I can say that the best way of learning maths is by doing maths so the lessons I tutor generally involve a lot of questions which we work through together, with you the student gradually becoming more independent and me, the tutor, making sure to fill in any gaps in theory as we go along.
