I am a BSc Mathematics graduate from the University of Leeds and I am currently studying my Masters in Sheffield. I offer a friendly approach to tutoring maths from GCSE to A-Level (I can also offer support to University students doing a maths/maths related subject). My goal is to help students become more confident in their mathematical abilities and learn to love the subject just as I do. Techniques like “teach back,” where students explain a topic in their own words, have stuck with me as important tools for reinforcing learning. More informally, I’ve often found myself helping friends understand difficult topics, and I’ve learnt how to adapt my explanations depending on who I’m speaking to. These experiences have made me realise how much I enjoy teaching, especially when I can find the right approach to make a tricky concept click. I try to make sessions engaging but focused, and I’m always thinking about how to present information clearly and logically. Away from study, I really enjoy football - I love playing fantasy league and keeping up with scores. I also like to read non fiction (especially Wikipedia these days!) to broaden my knowledge on a wide range of topics. I was also a member of the Virtual Medical Society, working with other aspiring medical students to create presentations on topics such as medical current affairs, admission exams, and aspects of the application process. My project, titled The Role of Health Literacy in Preventative Children's Medicine, deepened my understanding of the educational principles used in healthcare and how they can be applied within broader educational contexts.

Hello my name is Edward, I am currently a second year undergraduate studying Mechanical Engineering at UCL. I have a year of tutoring experience and I'm here to help assist fellow students.
