Hi, I am Ashbury! I am an encouraging Maths and Physics tutor currently studying Physics at the University of Edinburgh, with over a year of experience providing personalised one-to-one tuition at GCSE and A-level. I enjoy building strong connections with my students, helping them to strengthen their understanding, improve performance in STEM subjects, and ultimately reach their academic goals! My sessions are structured to consolidate key concepts while developing exam technique through guided exam-style questions and targeted practice. There is a strong focus on developing problem-solving and resilience that can be applied to independent practice. Additionally, I have an in-depth knowledge of Maths, Physics and Further Maths specifications and questions at GCSE and A-level from teaching and personal experience. I aim to create a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel free to ask any questions, so that they can build long-term confidence in their mathematical skills. I am currently in 2nd year of a 5-year Physics Integrated Masters at the University of Edinburgh, where I have received an A1 (equivalent to a 90%+ first) in all my modules so far. Previously, I attended Sir William Perkins School in Chertsey for all of secondary school, where I achieved 4A* in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Art A-level. My familiarity with mark schemes and exam technique aided in this and supports my tutoring significantly. At GCSE I achieved 10 Grade 9 GCSE's, including all three Sciences, Maths and Further Maths. Additionally, I was Head Prefect at SWPS and also supported tutoring internally, often working with a range of ages.

I am a third year medical student at Imperial College London, who also attended Queen Elizabeth's Boys' School. Whilst being a student, who's done his 11+, GCSEs and A-levels, I had to came up with new techniques to try and break down complex topics into smaller and simpler topics. I would love to pass on this knowledge, that I have gained through my experiences, onto younger students who are currently going through the processes that I did. My teaching style consists of seeing how each individual student learns best and then gearing my lessons towards their particular strengths to make learning as easy and fun as possible. After a few months research in academia (Machine Learning Materials Science Research) and 2 years working in industry as a Data Scientist I have returned to education to undertake an MPhil in Scientific Computing at the University of Cambridge. I am hopeful to achieve a Distinction in this course and apply my skills and knowledge in the computational drug discovery/medical fields.
